5G Technology Workshop with ZTE Corporation
PT Mora Jaya Persada participates in an exclusive 5G technology workshop organized by ZTE Corporation, preparing the technical team for the new generation infrastructure era.

A total of 10 engineers from PT Mora Jaya Persada participated in an exclusive workshop entitled "5G Infrastructure Readiness" organized by ZTE Corporation Indonesia on September 2-4, 2024, at the ZTE Training Center, Jakarta. This workshop was part of a capacity building program for ZTE's construction partners in Indonesia.
5G Workshop Curriculum
The 3-day workshop covered comprehensive material on 5G technology, ranging from 5G NR (New Radio) fundamentals, 5G SA (Standalone) and NSA (Non-Standalone) network architecture, to hands-on installation and commissioning of ZTE 5G equipment.
Rizky Hidayat, S.T., Engineering Manager who led the delegation, stated that this workshop was crucial for enhancing team competency. "5G technology brings significant changes in how we build and manage telecommunications infrastructure. 5G equipment such as AAU (Active Antenna Unit) is larger in weight and dimensions, requiring different installation techniques," he explained.
Massive MIMO Installation Practice
One of the most valuable sessions was the hands-on practice of ZTE Massive MIMO antenna installation. Participants learned the procedures for mounting, alignment, and commissioning of AAU 64T64R, which is the standard configuration for 5G deployment. This session was guided directly by ZTE engineers from China with experience in 5G deployment across various countries.
In addition to technical material, the workshop also addressed safety aspects specific to 5G work. The heavier weight of 5G equipment (AAU can reach 40-60 kg) requires stricter lifting and rigging procedures. Participants also learned about RF radiation exposure from Massive MIMO equipment and safe working procedures near active antennas.
Certification and Future Plans
Upon completing the workshop, all participants received a "ZTE 5G Certified Installer" certificate valid for 2 years. This certification is a prerequisite for contractors seeking to work on ZTE 5G projects in Indonesia.
PT Mora Jaya Persada plans to send a second batch of engineers to a similar workshop in early 2025, with the target of having at least 25 5G-certified engineers. This aligns with the company's strategy to position itself as a contractor ready to handle 5G projects from various vendors.
