Business Expansion to South Kalimantan Region
PT Mora Jaya Persada officially opens a representative office in Banjarmasin as the first step in expanding operations to the Kalimantan region.
PT Mora Jaya Persada officially opened a representative office in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, marking the company's first operational expansion beyond the island of Sumatra. The grand opening of the office, located on Jl. A. Yani Km 6, Banjarmasin, was held on October 1, 2024.
Kalimantan Market Potential
The decision to expand to Kalimantan was based on market analysis indicating significant potential for telecommunications infrastructure development in the region. With Kalimantan's continuously growing economy, particularly following the designation of Nusantara (IKN) as the new national capital in East Kalimantan, demand for telecommunications infrastructure across Kalimantan is projected to grow significantly over the next 5 years.
Ir. Ahmad Mora Jaya explained that this expansion had been planned over the past 2 years. "We have conducted market research, built a network of relationships with operators and vendors in Kalimantan, and prepared the human resources to be stationed there. The opening of this office is the realization of our strategic plan to become a nationally scaled telecommunications contractor," he stated.
Local Operations Team
The Banjarmasin office will be led by a Branch Manager supported by a local operations team of 12 people, comprising engineers, supervisors, administrative staff, and technical personnel. Some of the staff are local recruits who underwent training at the Palembang headquarters for 3 months.
In the initial phase, the Banjarmasin office will focus on serving the South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan regions. Services offered cover the company's full portfolio: BTS tower construction, CME works, equipment installation, fiber optic, maintenance, and site acquisition.
First Contracts in Kalimantan
PT Mora Jaya Persada has secured two initial contracts in Kalimantan: the construction of 5 BTS towers for Telkomsel in Banjar and Tanah Laut Regencies, and a CME project for 10 XL Axiata sites in the Banjarmasin area. The total initial contract value amounts to Rp 3.5 billion.
With the opening of the Banjarmasin office, PT Mora Jaya Persada now has 3 operational offices: the headquarters in Palembang, a branch office in Medan (operating since 2016), and the representative office in Banjarmasin.
