Planting 1,000 Trees at Former Construction Project Sites
PT Mora Jaya Persada organizes a 1,000-tree planting program at former construction project sites as a commitment to environmental conservation.

Coinciding with Earth Day on April 22, 2024, PT Mora Jaya Persada organized a program to plant 1,000 trees at three former tower construction project sites in South Sumatra. The program, entitled "Mora Hijau," involved 120 employees along with their families and local community members.
Locations and Plant Species
The planting locations were spread across three sites: Banyuasin Regency (400 trees), Musi Banyuasin Regency (350 trees), and Ogan Ilir Regency (250 trees). The tree species planted were selected according to local ecological conditions, including mahogany, rain tree, ketapang kencana, and several local fruit tree species.
Dwi Cahyono, S.K.M., HSE Manager who also oversees the company's environmental aspects, explained that this program is an implementation of the company's environmental policy in accordance with ISO 14001:2015. "Every construction project we undertake inevitably has an impact on the surrounding environment. This tree planting program is our form of responsibility to restore ecological balance," he explained.
Implementation and Maintenance
The activity began with a brief briefing on proper planting techniques, optimal planting site selection, and seedling care during the initial weeks. All participants enthusiastically participated despite the fairly hot weather. Several employees' children also joined in, making the activity an environmental education opportunity for the younger generation.
To ensure the survival of the planted trees, PT Mora Jaya Persada partnered with local farmer groups to carry out maintenance and monitoring for the first 6 months. The company allocated maintenance funds and will conduct survival rate evaluations at the 6-month and 12-month marks.
Mora Hijau Program Achievements
The Mora Hijau program has been running since 2020 with a total of more than 3,000 trees planted at various locations. Based on the latest survey, the survival rate of trees from previous programs reached 78%, which is considered good for reforestation programs at former construction sites.
In addition to tree planting, the company also applies reduce, reuse, recycle principles in project operations. Construction waste materials such as scrap iron, formwork timber, and cables are sorted and managed through certified waste management partners.
